Answer

Health and Social Care Trusts (HSCTs) report day centre attendance and transport provision may be provided within Trust areas following assessment and in accordance with assessed need. HSCTs provided the following response in respect of transport to day centres outside their Trust geographical boundary.

Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT):

The NHSCT advise that they do not typically provide transport to day centres outside of their Trust area. The Trust further advised the exception to this is if the Trust resident had been assessed as having complex needs that could only be met by a service outside of the Trust.

Southern Health and Social Care Trust (SHSCT):

The SHSCT advise that they will provide transport to Day Centres outside of the Trust boundary if required by the assessed needs of the individual.

Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT):

The WHSCT advise that they do not provide transport outside of their Trust boundary.

Southern Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT):

The SEHSCT advise the Trust only provides transport to day centres within their Trust area only.

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT):

The BHSCT advise that they do not place individuals outside of the BHSCT Trust boundary, with transport then provided within the Trust geographical area
