Answer
My Department has previously introduced measures to improve traffic flow in Moira including the signalisation of the Main Street/Meeting Street junction, and a road marking scheme to provide right turn pockets between Backwood Road and the Old Kilmore Road junction.
The village’s future transport needs, being situated within the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council area, will be considered as part of the new Eastern Transport Plan being developed by my Department. The plan will take account of the growth ambitions of Lisburn and Castlereagh city and other councils in the plan catchment area and will consider potential transport interventions for Moira.
