Answer
The South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust continue to provide the full range of Maternity care services for pregnant women.
Maternity Services are provided from the following:
The Ulster Maternity Hospital provides Maternity Outpatients services, Emergency Obstetric Unit, an Alongside Midwifery Unit and Labour Ward.
The Lagan Valley and Downe Midwifery Led Units are bases for Community Midwives, but also provide both obstetric and midwifery led antenatal clinics.
Community Midwifery care is also delivered from hubs in Bangor and Ards & Holywood (Greenway team).
The total births in the Ulster Hospital in 2023/24 (as per latest published inpatient activity statistics) was 3,612 which equates to 18.2% of overall hospital births across Northern Ireland.
