To ask the Minister of Education to detail the number of parents who are entitled to a parental payment from the Education Authority for transport, but do not avail of any financial support.

The Education Authority (EA) has advised that it is unable to provide information on the number of parents who are entitled to claim a parental payment but have not submitted a claim.

Parents who are entitled to a parental payment are notified and provided with information on how to register and submit a claim. During the 2025/26 school year, 3,234 families were notified that they were entitled to claim an annual parental payment and 1,997 families were notified that they were entitled to claim monthly payments in respect of pupils with additional transport requirements.
