Answer
All grant aided schools are funded under the Common Funding Scheme. The Common Funding Formula (CFF) is the Department’s mechanism for allocating budgets to schools funded through Local Management of Schools arrangements. A school’s CFF allocation is determined by both the quantum of funding available to the Aggregated Schools Budget and a combination of the school’s overall enrolment, the differentiated needs of its pupils and the school’s characteristics.
(i) In 2024-25 the funding allocated to the four primary schools with 52 full time equivalent (FTE) pupils ranges from £262,902 to £272,833. The average funding is £266,183.
(ii) In 2024-25 the funding allocated to the 38 nursery schools with 52 FTE pupils ranges from £231,535 to £288,669. The average funding is £255,021.
The Education Authority, as funding authority for grant aided schools, publishes an analysis of resource allocations and expenditure for individual schools on its website.
